Initial conversation
Everything begins with a conversation rather than a technique. The purpose is to understand what you are actually describing, in your own words and at your own pace.
Expect to be asked about what you have noticed, when it tends to happen, what you have already tried, and what a useful change would look like for you specifically. Expect also to be asked what you are hoping for — because it is far better to discuss an expectation openly at the start than to let it quietly stand.
You are equally welcome to ask questions: about the approach, about what a session involves, or about anything that would help you decide whether to proceed.
- What you have noticed, described in your own terms
- When and where it tends to occur
- What has already been tried, and how it went
- What you are hoping for, discussed honestly
